Despite the snow and frigid temperatures in much of the U.S., Al Gore can explain why extremely cold weather is just more evidence of climate change.
Gore linked to an article titled A ‘PERFECT STORM’: EXTREME WINTER WEATHER, BITTER COLD, AND CLIMATE CHANGE (climate changers often yell).
“World-renowned climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann explains why the bitter cold and snowy conditions gripping the US are ‘an example of precisely the sort of extreme winter weather we expect because of climate change,'” the article says.
The piece concludes: “So, to the climate change doubters and deniers out there, the unusual weather we’re seeing this winter is in no way evidence against climate change. It is an example of precisely the sort of extreme winter weather we expect because of climate change.”
Gore’s Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth did not warn of record cold and increasing snowfalls as a consequence of man-made global warming. And as recently as 2009, Gore was hyping the lack of snow as evidence for man-made global warming.
He’s hoping Americans have a short memory and confuse “weather” with “climate.”
One of the most frigid Arctic weather events of the 20th century occurred Jan. 18-22, 1985. Every state east of the Rocky Mountains was affected by extreme cold, including new state records established: -34 degrees at Mt. Mitchell, North Carolina, -19 degrees at Caesar’s Head, South Carolina; and -30 degrees at Mountain Lake, Virginia.
With most of the country freezing its tuchus off, Gore took a beating on Twitter.
It’s bitter cold in parts of the US, but climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann explains that’s exactly what we should expect from the climate crisis. https://t.co/6UfJ9Xxpq6
