On Wednesday, Laura Ingraham tweeted out a story about David Hogg getting rejected by four different colleges despite having a GPA of 4.1. “David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it,” she said.
Following her remarks, Hogg called for a boycott of advertisers who support Fox News. Since the tweet, TripAdvisor,Nestle, Wayfair, and Nutrish have all pulled out of their partnerships with the show. Ingraham then apologized on Twitter, saying, “I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.”
The apology wasn’t good enough for Hogg. He refused to accept her apology then doubled down on his boycott rampage. Hogg is among several Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students who have emerged as national advocates for gun control in the weeks since the mass shooting that left 17 people dead. He was one of the organizers behind Saturday’s “March for Our Lives” and has been targeted by right-wing websites.
Hogg demanded Ingraham denounce Fox News as the only way he would accept her apology then claimed ‘it’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.’
Power Hogg is allowed to call NRA members child murderers and drop F-bombs right and left because he’s just an innocent child.
I 100% agree an apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough. I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I️ in this fight. It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children. https://t.co/H0yWs4zMGk
