Testifying before the House Intelligence Committee Monday morning, NSA Director Admiral Michael Rogers and FBI Director James Comey stated unequivocally that there was no evidence the Russians manipulated election machines to rig the vote. FBI Director James Comey confirmed Monday that the bureau is investigating Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election — including any links between members of the Donald Trump campaign for president and the Russians.
I have been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI as part of our counter-intelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, and that includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and the Russia’s efforts.“Because it is an open, ongoing investigation I cannot say more,” Comey explained.
However in some political and media circles are still peddling the very misleading claim that Russia “hacked” the election. But there’s nothing to show the Russians “hacked” any formal function of the presidential election. There are no reports showing any manipulation of official government or election office duties or functions. There is no evidence Russians changed votes. The Russians didn’t NOT hack voting machines and change votes, nor did they force voters to vote for Trump and against Hillary.
