The Girls creator and star Lena Dunham a vocal Hillary Clinton supporter is crediting President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 election with her recent weight loss. In an interview on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show, the 30-year-old actress revealed the secret to her slimmer figure – she’s stopped wanting to eat because of Trump-induced anxiety.
“Donald Trump became president and I stopped being able to eat food,” she told Stern. “Everyone’s been asking like, ‘What have you been doing?’ And I’m like, ‘Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you, too, will lose weight.’”
Dunham creator was on the show to talk about her television series, Girls, but the conversation soon turned to the President.
She said: “He said I was a B-list actor with no mojo”.
The actress and writer was also asked whether it would be a mistake for Donald Trump to listen to celebrities like her.
Dunham replied: “Here’s the funny thing. Of course, it’s a mistake.
“But we’re talking about him like he’s a person who is operating in a sane way, we’re talking about him like a person who doesn’t have a personality disorder.”
When asked why she didn’t move to Canada after Donald Trump became President, the celebrity explained she never thought he would win.
She said that at the time, a Trump win seemed like an “impossible joke” that “would never happen. I was like, the most qualified candidate we’ve ever had is running against a steak salesman. We’re going to be fine”.
Meanwhile, Lena has decided not to wage a war of words with the new leader, no matter what he says about her
“All he does is talk about women like they’re objects,” she said. “It doesn’t reclaim our power to talk about him like he’s an object. It doesn’t reclaim our power to insult his physicality.” she said during a New York Times event last week.
Dunham is known for being a feminist who says she has never had an abortion, but wishes she had one. She also spread rumors about being raped by a conservative guy named “Barry in her book,” however it was soon exposed that this story was a complete fabrication.
